The Many Pros of Gentlemax Pro

Most people know about laser hair removal cosmetic treatments, but many are unaware of what these lasers actually do and what other issues they might be able to help treat. Gentlemax Pro is not only a laser hair removal treatment but also a great option for removing unwanted pigmented lesions that could eventually develop into skin cancer. Here’s why you should ask your doctor about Gentlemax Pro.

Benefits of Gentlemax Pro

What Can Gentlemax Pro Treat?

The primary dermatological concern that is addressed with Gentlemax Pro is laser hair removal treatment. Unwanted hair is not harmful, but it can be embarrassing — and for many, dark or visible hair in obvious places can impact self esteem and social life. Areas like the face, neck, arms and armpits, back, nipples, stomach, and legs are all common places for an overgrowth of hair. Some people naturally have darker, thicker body hair (known as vellus hair) while others have light, fine hair but find patches of coarser, more obvious hair in certain places.

Genetics, hormones, medications, pregnancy, menopause, the aging process, and many other variables can contribute to unwanted body hair. Additionally, some people who prefer smooth legs, armpits, or bikini lines are tired of the time, effort, and cost of shaving or waxing. Laser hair removal is a great option for all of these situations, and the Gentlemax Pro is a go-to laser treatment for dermatologists nationwide.

But besides removing unwanted vellus hair, the Gentlemax Pro laser can help treat certain types of skin lesions. While it’s not technically a surgical treatment option for existing skin cancer, it can effectively remove pigmented lesions and vascular lesions that could eventually develop into skin cancer lesions. Pigmented lesions are areas on the skin — either raised bumps and growths or flat areas — that appear brown, black, or blue in color. The most common pigmented lesions are moles, freckles, and melasma. Vascular lesions are commonly known as birthmarks.

How Does the Gentlemax Pro Laser Work?

The Gentlemax Pro is a dual wavelength laser platform that combines a 755nm Alexandrite laser with a 1064nm Nd:YAG laser. This laser is widely used due to its speed, efficacy, and proven results among patients. There are a variety of different treatment settings that allow the dermatologist to quickly target the affected area.

Treatments are quick — typically between ten and thirty minutes at the most. In some cases, a topical anesthetic may need to be applied thirty minutes to an hour before treatment. Depending on the issue being addressed, multiple sessions are typically needed. For example, for laser hair removal treatment to achieve full results, it often takes between five and seven repeat sessions. Working with a knowledgeable, experienced doctor will ensure that you’re guided through this process, with your results closely monitored with appropriate treatment recommendations.
